I suppose that has the most to do with me joining the Wealthy affiliates when I look back over my life here in the last few years.

Northampton Business has suffered greatly over the last 5 years .(that’s how long I have been living here) long gone are the days of the thriving shoe industry even though you’ll see lot’s of architecture to remind you of the “good old day’s” the Shoe factory Barratt’s still has a presence for instance. Even the local farmers lost out with the closing of the Northampton cattle market.

A great collection of Northampton businesses could have been found within the fish market only 25 years ago but now even that has fallen.Â And the space isÂ now occupied, not by a Northampton business as such … but by the art’s council although I suppose they would argue the fact they are a business and not a charity group.

The Northampton town is closing down, a story far too familiar to once busy market towns. But who is to blame? I have to say the local council and the local town centre authority.

IKEA or not?

The first evidence I saw of this was in a local poll. as a businessman I have to say that when I read in the chronicle that IKEA wanted to become a Northampton business I was indeed pleased, just what the town and area needs, lot’s of new visitors to the area. But Northampton said no… to much traffic!

I couldn’t believe it, talk about “cutting your nose off to spite your face…” That really was a turning point for me. I remembers saying to by partner. we have to start something online as there’s no business customers coming to this town!

Quite a bit later I finally found a great mentor in the Wealthy Affiliate University. No where else online have I found the tools to leverage the world wide market and increase the revenue to my Northampton business. I don’t look to Northampton for revenue as my product like yours probably can be used world wide.

I always ask other business owners what their website address is and am constantly amazed when they either don’t have a site or their site looks like it was built in the 80′s and not optimized for getting the right type of keyword generated traffic.
