Whoa, this affiliate marketing stuff look too easy to be true. All I have to do is write a couple of articles a week and rake in the doe.. Soon enough I’ll be flashing my black Amex about and cruising in my new ride … That’s what I call blinded by the light.

I have seen far too my affiliate buddy’s fall by the way-side just because they haven’t hit the “big time” in 3 months … Hell I’ve seen people quit the Wealthy affiliate university within the first 3 weeks! are you one of those who wants to get rich quick? If so safe your moolah and get an extra job working at a fast food joint because you ain’t gonna make it as an affiliate marketer!

I took the hard route, some may say, Others who have made it, will tell you I took the “smart route”.  But what is the smart route?

• learn exactly what it is that affiliate marketing is,
• I did the 8 week course at the WAU and read every word that I was given to read and applied every thing that I was taught.
• I did my research into what the buyer wanted
• I learnt all about social media sites to get a boost from already well ranked websites like squidoo and hubpages
• I worked on 1 campaign for three months solid for 8 hours 5 days a week
• I asked LOADS of questions in the wealthy affiliate forum
• I didn’t give in to shiny emails that hit my inbox 50 times a day
• I learnt the basics of HTML
• I didn’t listen to those who were around me saying that it was a mugs game
• I set myself achievable goals in my first 6 weeks!
• I didn’t give up.

And now I am making a good enough living to know that soon enough, I’ll be in the light, as I wasn’t blinded by it. Building a business doesn’t happen over night. It is hard there is a lot to learn but once you learn it it’s a skill for life, and more importantly you MUST implement what it is that you learn….

Don’t throw in the towel when it gets tough, just get yourself an affiliate buddy who can and will help you.
