It was 02.40am the time the an eager newbie has to contemplate turning in for the night. I wasn’t at my best, I’d been reading and learning and trying to implement what the 8week was tasking me to.

I’d hit a massive hurdle with week 4 and just was not savvy enough to get a web page up, All my focus was with the basic squid now and articles…..A but upset that I STILL had not seen any cash, I thought I would just go and have a check at what’s in clickbank.

I arrived at the familiar blue and white.. (now revamped)  “Then I noticed”

Oh there is a tab that I didn’t really investigate properly (it says My Account) I click and I see $235 on the left my eyes pop & my mouth begins to curl. Its started. I CAN’T believe it, I let out a triumphant yelp. aware that I really don’t want to wake the kids.

I sneak into bed head buzzing with excitement, looking forward to becoming a REAL IM when I say “real” I mean one that actually makes money. I’ve been down the road with crap programs too many times and made not 1 penny…….and finally dose off.

In the morning I email the news via a page clip of my account to my Captain, Marcus “That geezer is the dogs”…he emails me back and to my shock is talking about the $500+ that I’ve made!! I don’t even know how to read my account I was making money two weeks ago!……I tell ya It’s beginning to hurt, how do I stop Grinning…?

After the initial burst of sales, all that remains is a trickle of buyers. Even your returns are rising. So what just happened?

The information is solid and unique. Do you have to change the content to pump up the sales? No, but you may need to make simple adjustments to get those sales back on the rise and prevent more refund requests.

Give away free samples. You know how that draws people in the grocery store or at the coffee shop. Everybody wants to try something that’s free. Let prospective buyers have a sample of your eBook.

Another key to your passport to wealth is finding successful people to learn from. This may sound harsh but ditch your loser friends and hang around successful proven winners. You become who you hang around with. Let’s say you begin to hang around a friend who whines all the time about how unfair the world is to him, I guarantee within a few weeks you will be doing the same thing. But the same goes if you begin to hang around a successful business person. So find great people to learn internet marketing techniques with.

Yep, you read it right! Stop promoting your business.

How many times a day do you surf the net and see ad after ad full of hype.

You just roll your eyes and go on about your day totally forgetting that you even saw those type ads. I know we all get so tired of flashy, big promise making, ads. Who are they kidding? I don’t know about you but I can’t seem to take those seriously.

On the other hand you see an ad that doesn’t appear to be promising the farm and has that “down home” appeal. You immediately click on it and see a “real” person’s site with “real” information that appeals to you. Wow the whole story about where they are from, how they got started, their family life- it’s all there in black and white.

This immediately sets this person apart from all the internet hype. You read on and they even have a phone number where you can actually “reach” them! Now you’re really excited. You just don’t see it in that fashion these days.

Yes it’s someone who’s learned the ropes. They’ve hit the gold mine of network marketing and it’s not the most expensive ads about their business, no, they’ve learned to “brand” themselves online.  It’s not about the business, well it is somewhat but take this scenario:

You walk into a car dealership, immediately a guy walks up and gives you a 30 second commercial and you’re waiting for someone to scream “Cut!” And in the back of your mind you think “oh no, not one of these guys.” You absolutely can’t stand a “pushy” salesman; neither can the rest of us.

But say you back up and you walk into the same dealership, and a nice young man walks up and asks you how you are and looks down at your 2 year old whose just waiting for some attention, and tells her how pretty she looks today. Wow, he’s not trying to stick me into the first car we see?

He then proceeds to ask you if you’re from around here and tells you where he’s from. A decent conversation is going on. Finally he asks what he can do for you. By this time you are relaxed and ready to look around.

Now, compare the two situations. Which one would you most likely buy from? The pushy big mouth, or the guy that didn’t try to sell his “business” first but made a connection to you? Yes it’s all to often looked over in this industry. It’s all about the almighty dollar. We find ourselves wanting that new partner and we forget that it’s not the business that sells, it’s YOU.

Stop promoting your business and promote YOU. Establish a connection with your potential partners or buyers first. Build integrity before the sale. Show them who YOU are. Then the business will come naturally. Try being honest and see what happens! It never hurts to try the road less traveled!
