Finding the right keyword is for certain a make or break step in anyone’s affiliate or internet marketing efforts, without the right keywords you ain’t going to attract your target market, you ain’t going to get any traffic, so you ain’t going to make any money. So finding keywords that pay is something you need to get right every time.
But to be really truthful so many get totally lost when it comes to keyword research, and that is why so many who try online marketing fail dismally. You have to understand that just because you used a search term to find something it doesn’t mean that everyone uses the same term as y0u do, we all think differently and we all use different words for the same thing.

I called it a dongle, but did you? call it a USB drive, Flash drive, USB stick, Mini drive, Stick drive, USB key, Memory stick … Those are just the words I can think of right now and you may use a totally different term altogether.
Do you see how different we all are in the way that we think and search, even though we may be searching for the same thing, that’s why when it comes to keywords to use you MUST dig down deep and see which are the terms are the most popular, and then decide from those which ones you want to optimise for and stick to it.

Word Tracker – A simple but basic free keyword finder that lists the keyword in the most popular search term for the keyword you input into the search box. This is a great place to start to see if your keyword actually gets any searches.
Google Adwords Keyword Tool – Another Freebie with a lot more variables that you can use with the keyword search, your able to instantly see the type od advertiser competition the local search volume for the month and the global searh for that particular keyword for the month too. Also you have the option for Broad searches, keyword phrase searches, exact keyword search and negative search too.
WordPot – Now wordpot is one that not a lot of folks talk about but it is really worth a mention. again it’s really simple but with a couple of features that certainly make it one you should book mark, again there are quite a few variables you can filter in your search and you even get a trend graph. The searches here are daily’s
